CHARACTERISTICS OF AEROSOLS UNDER DUST AND SAND WEATHER IN BEIJING

The characteristics of sand and dust weather in Beijing are studied. The distribution of sand and dust weather, the air pollution produced
during the sand and dust weather period, the main causes of sand and dust weather,and the sources of sand and dust are investigated
through analyzing synoptic climate data, satellite images,air mass trajectories and physical and chemical characteristics of air aerosols.


The preliminary conclusions are that the sand and dust weather occurs more frequently in the spring months than other season in Beijing,
 which is one of the important causes of the air pollution in Beijing.The spring sand and dust weather in Beijing are mainly caused by
sandstorms, suspended dust and blowing sand.   The proportion resulting from blowing sand is measured up to 71.4%.


The physical and chemical characteristics of the air aerosols in the sand and dust weather are obviously different from normal days.
The physical and chemical characteristics of the air aerosols demonstrate thatduring the sand and dust weather the air aerosols
mainly come from the local natural source. The role of anthropogenic emission relatively becomes less important.

北京沙尘暴的原因


The cause of  sandstorm in Beijing Since Yuan DynastyBeijing Have Had Records of sandstorm which mainly Happens in spring.
So far, there is no evidence that if Beijing sandstorm is strengthening or weakening.


 Sand and dust of Beijing sandstorm stems from both inner and outside Beijing region. Outside cause of Beijing sandstorm is global climatic change ,

inner cause is overweight of population pressure and non-harmonious population-land relations.

To prevent Beijing sandstorm, China should take vigorous action to look for international co-operation so as to reduce discharge of hothouse gas

and accept international aid, to issue a series of  relative policies, also Beijing should work out concrete active plans.

什么是沙尘暴?

沙尘暴 (sand duststorm) 是沙暴 (sandstorm) 和尘暴 (duststorm) 两者兼有的总称,是指强风把地面大量沙尘物质吹起并卷入空中,使空气特别混浊,

水平能见度小于 1千米的严重风沙天气现象。其中沙暴系指大风把大量沙粒吹入近地层所形成的挟沙风暴;尘暴则是大风把大量尘埃及其它细粒物质卷入高空所形成的风暴。

2010年03月20日游客在北京天安门广场留影 北京是风沙活动和沙尘暴的高发区之一。所谓风沙活动,就是大风作用于干燥的地表所引起的一系列物理现象。

通常是颗粒细小的沙尘飞人大气之中,处于悬浮状态,同时受到大气的空间运动的影响。沙尘借助于高空气流移动到数十公里、 数百公里、数千公里、数万公里以外。

根据卫星遥感监测结果,亚洲大陆的沙尘可以横越太平洋,到达美国中部地区。颗粒稍大的沙粒,在地表作跳跃式运动,粗沙跳跃不起来,只能在地面滚动。

沙尘和沙粒的运动是同时进行的, 往往给人以天昏地暗的感觉。北京沙尘暴天气出现的原因:北京属于山前冲积洪积扇,在地质时期的第四纪,北京周围的山区,曾被冰壳所覆盖,

后来,后期由于大气变暖,冰壳融化破裂, 巨大的冰块在流水作用下向坡下滑动。石景山区磨式口的第四纪冰川擦痕,八大处公园中的冰川漂石,就是这样产生的。

山上的冰川洪水,将大量的泥沙、砾石推到山下, 形成了冲积洪积扇,北京市区和市郊,均在冲积洪积扇上。按照沉积学原理,个体比较大的砾石最先沉积,

然后是粗沙、中沙、细沙、粉沙和泥土。由于这种原因,在北京地下8—10米处常常可以见到沙子和 砾石。在离山比较近的地方,例如石景山区,剥开薄薄的地表土,

即可以见到沙子和砾石。由于市区地下沙子埋藏比较深,只有在基建施工挖地槽时,才能够见到地下沙子。 在修地铁、 建高层建筑等等重大施工中,都会在地下暴露出沙子。

工地上的沙子,在大风作用下能够飞扬扩散。近年北京大搞基建施工,大小工地千余处, 这是北京近年风沙活动频繁的重要原因之一。

北方地区每年春季的大风或强风天气和干旱少雨、气温较高的环境是沙尘暴的产生必要条件之一。 从某种意义上说,北京的沙尘暴似乎不可抗拒。

除此之外,北京郊区的耕地和垃圾场, 在春季大风之际,也会出现尘土飞扬,成为北京重要的沙尘源。北京汽车逐年增多,汽车尾气中含有未能完全燃烧的炭粒,

也增加了空气中的可吸人颗粒物。工业锅炉、家庭烧煤, 也会产生煤炭的灰烬,成为灰尘之源。
